The "Biodiversity Collage" Workshop: Understanding and Acting for Nature
The Biodiversity Collage workshop aims to raise awareness about the causes and consequences of biodiversity loss. Based on the IPBES report, it uses a fun and collaborative approach to make these issues accessible to everyone.
Educational Objectives
Understand the challenges of biodiversity loss.
Identify human pressures affecting ecosystems.
Encourage collective reflection on conservation solutions.
Promote individual and collective commitment to biodiversity protection.
Workshop Structure
The workshop follows several key steps:
Introduction: Presentation of biodiversity challenges and workshop objectives.
Game phase: In teams of 5 to 7, participants use 39 cards to explore the links between biodiversity, ecological benefits, and factors of degradation.
Artistic creation: Each team decorates its collage, gives it a title, and shares its findings with the group.
Debriefing and action plans: Discussion on key takeaways and development of concrete solutions to protect biodiversity.
Scientific Recognition and Validation
The workshop has been scientifically validated and tested with over 100 participants, including experts from the National Museum of Natural History, the French Office for Biodiversity, and the IUCN. It has also been presented at major international events such as the Marseille Nature Congress and COP15 in Montreal.
